Wellness & rehab
Rehabilitation and wellness in the water
Water removes load from joints, supports the body and lets people move earlier, more freely and with less fear. We use that, guided by biokinetics and sport science, to help clients recover, build function and keep moving for life.
Who it is for
- Individuals recovering from injury or surgery
- Clients managing chronic pain or mobility limitations
- Active adults seeking joint-friendly conditioning
- Those transitioning from rehabilitation to wellness
- Individuals seeking preventative, longevity-focused movement
We work with adults, adolescents and individuals with specific rehabilitation or wellness needs who require low-impact, evidence-based movement solutions.
How a programme works
Assessment
Every programme starts with an individualised assessment so that the plan fits you, your condition and your goals.
Plan
Your programme is designed on biokinetic and sport science principles, integrating land- and water-based movement where that helps.
Sessions
Purposeful sessions in our heated indoor pool (30 °C and above), in a calm, private setting, with female-only or mixed sessions available.
Progression
As function returns, the focus shifts from rehabilitation to wellness and preventative, longevity-focused movement.
Rehabilitation
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions
- Chronic pain management
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Return-to-function programmes
Wellness
- Low-impact conditioning
- Mobility and flexibility sessions
- Functional aquatic strength training
- Stress reduction and recovery-focused movement
Working with your medical team
Clinical consultations and medical aid claims are conducted through the in-house biokinetics practice, and aquatic sessions form part of an integrated rehabilitation or wellness plan. More about the biokinetics practice.
Aquatic sessions at FR3KLS Aquatics are delivered under the guidance of a registered biokineticist (HPCSA BK 0044067, Practice No. 1321536). They complement, and do not replace, assessment or treatment by your doctor or specialist. Please consult your medical practitioner before starting any rehabilitation programme, and tell us about any condition, surgery or medication that may affect your participation.
